T20 Schedule

The fourth edition of ICC World Cup of T20 first held in the year 2007 is happening again. ICC T20 2012 World Cup is to be hosted by Sri Lanka. This Famous Cricket tournament shall involve 16 teams from all over the world whereas in the last ICC World Cup T20 only 12 teams had been featured. 6 teams out of the 16 team which shall be a part of the ICC T20 World Cup Schedule will be chosen from the qualifier round. UAE has hosted the qualifiers of this tournament in early 2012.

ICC T20 World Cup Schedule stretches between September 18 and October 7. Fast bowler Lasith Malinga has been selected to be the event’s ambassador. The winner and the runner up of the qualifier rounds are Ireland and Afghanistan respectively. The Last ICC T20 World champions were England it is yet to be seen which country’s team crowns their country with the winning shrine this time round.

The selected venues for the occurrence of this cricket mania spreading tournament are Pallekele Cricket Stadium, R. Premadasa Stadium at Colombo, and Mahindra Rajapaksa Stadium in Hambontota. The teams have been divided between four groups. First the Teams from each group play against each other and then against others. Team A comprises of India, England and Afghanistan whereas Team B comprises of West Indies, Australia and Ireland. Team C comprises of South Africa, Sri Lanka and Zimbabwe while Team D includes Pakistan, Bangladesh and New Zealand. Top two teams from each group will be split into Group E and F where is E is formed with the top teams of A and C and F having the top teams of B and D. It is a 20 day long tournament. From the September 18 to 25 of the ICC T20 World Cup 2012 schedule shall comprise of matches between the first 4 groups.
